Don’t get me wrong… I wouldn’t go as cheap as a bar would because pretty much every rail drink I’ve had sucked. Like wine all whisk(e)y is a little bit different. In general, Bourbon tends to have a bit more body than a lot of the others. Not sure if it’s due to the use of corn or new oak barrels (or a combination of the two). Due to a lighter style it may be why you tend to see more Irish whiskey mixed with ginger ale.
