Head up Friday for 5 days. Seems I planned the trip to coincide with a major cold front which always helps fishing but curious what general patterns are working these days for ‘eyes?
Matt H- How’d your trip go? I’m going up to Leech 9/11 for the week. Since I have never fished it during open water, I didn’t have any advice for you. I’ll post a report when I get back.
Muskies are extremely active. Saw 12 in 2 days of bass fishing. Caught a 47″ and shook off a low 30s because I wanted my jig back. Saw 2 over 50″ though
Thanks. Weeds or rocks? We’ll be in the Horseshoe Bay area. Whereabouts were you fishing, roughly of course? How was the bass fishing? My wife loves to bass fish.
Found a pretty consistent pattern pulling lead in the basin adjacent to mid lake structure.
It was a family trip so I’d only get a few hours at a time but usually could catch a fish or two per hour.
Water temp was low 70s, so adjust according to what you find up there.
Did pull cranks over shallow reefs at night with minimal to no success but I suspect that might be better if the water has cooled off.
Rigging bigger minnows is getting overs, nada on jigs. 14-20′
Crank bite at night didn’t do anything for us last night shallow. Tried 8-12′ for a bit too w no luck. Didn’t give it too much effort, might go back next weekend
Buddy limited quickly few days ago, jig and fathead off battle point. Wind was cranking, which usually turns it on anytime of year so not much new lol.
Fish Are schooled up. Found some big pods scattered out on the sand. Fish were very cooperative on minnows, plastics and blade baits. Sside Imaging was key. Ice a pass is located they seemed to stick around but you need to cover some ground to find them.
