Heading up to Arnesen’s this weekend, hope the wind stays down!

Anyone besides LOTWtourism been fishing lately? We will probably run some riggers but would love to be able to jig too, just not sure if we are a bit early for the jig bite.

Appreciate any info, I will post a report when we get back.

Will do, we’re probably going to run riggers during the day and play it by ear after that.

Just got back last night from the lake, what a great weekend. Weather was great, got some rain Friday morning and a bit too much wind Saturday, but we were able to fish all three days which is rare!

We just pulled cranks as we talked to some others and the jig bit seemed to be sporadic.

Three people in the boat and I think we had ~35 fish Thursday afternoon, 45 fish Friday and about 35 fish on Saturday(in 3.5 hours). Not the best fishing I’ve ever had up there, but not the worst either. Keepers were solid though, a lot of 14+ inch sauger and many walleye in the 16-18 inch range. I think we had 3 slot fish, biggest being 22″, so nothing huge this weekend.

    Hot baits were:
    gold scatter rap shad 07
    fire crawdad shad rap 05
perch scatter rap minnow 11 (this was a bit of a surprise, but it caught fish immediately after putting it on and kept producing all day Saturday).

Wish the jig bite would have been better, but hard to complain about ~40 fish days in Minnesota. Such is the way of LOTW, if you’ve seen the good days then a measly 40 fish seems slow.

Hopefully the bite is better this winter up there, seeing a lot of quality saugers and walleyes out there!
