Still looking for reports if anyone has any info . Today i got out launched by Winona at 8 fished till 12 smashed em in the backwaters of the river no deeper then 5-8 feet first started trolling flicker shads picked up a pike and two nice walleyes right away amongst that madness i dropped anchor right in the sweet spot still in a small backwater channel shallow set up with a leach on a jig picked up a couple nice eyes and a few snags so switched over to a split shot and red octopus hook ran out of leeches started using my red trout worms i managed to land a 21” and a
20” on those baby crawlers burned those up in not time sitting anchored pitching up river and playing the snags , it was a unbelievably morning of fishing by My self probably landed 10-15 walleyes one pike one sunny and one smallmouth most walleyes were in the 15-18” range with the two biggins and only one under keeper 15 . All in backwaters but with a fair bit of current

I bet it’s good everywhere now.

Today, We caught 7 different species of fish with very little effort. Everything seemed to be biting until about noon. Bunch of nice sunfish. A couple 9″ perch, some 14 1/2″ Walleyes, some small northerns, couple nice fiddlers, small bass & just a few sheepshead……all on night crawlers, fishing bottom with a slip sinker.

Didn’t keep anything. Thought about it, not in the mood to clean fish today.

Got out yesterday afternoon for a few hours before dark ,water is still pretty high and flowing fast but is on the drop finally . Launched out of favorite spot in Winona immediately went to my go to holes and managed nothing for the first hour so back tracking i go wound up finding em in 6-12 feet of water mixed bag eyes and sauger crappie all caught on a white 1/4 ounce northland jig jester vertical jiggin was easiest and that’s what worked for me . Couldn’t buy a bite when trolling cranks that surprised me . Water temp was 47 i was the only boat at the launch ,only had one shore fisherman in sight the whole time . Heading back down this afternoon to try er again .plenty of mallards floating around the back channels too smash
