We usually see them at the cabin in northern Minnesota when we are up there enough to keep food in the feeders. Never see them in central Minnesota. Things must be rough in Canada, they migrate down when food up there is tough to find.
Just had two this morning picking the scraps under the feeder… downy’s were looking at them like they were aliens…thought… hmmmm that’s weird… then this post !
I have a flock of about 20 at the feeders every day.
Up until about 2 weeks ago I had only a couple of the red males.
Now I have up to 8 at the feeders each day.
