Any one trying the Croix opener this weekend

It’s going to a tough weekend with water levels moving so fast. Was out last weekend just rough fishing and 5 oz of weight was getting washed right down river. I’m still going to out there Saturday morning. If I can’t find the walleyes the crappie have been a easy target

Im going to wait a couple weeks after opener to start hitting it. I am not prepared this year due to the late winter.

The backwater and islands around and north of obrien are mine. Gonna be a great year.

I will most likely see you there. It’s gonna be slow traveling with the entire river under a no wake rule

I will be down on the lower section playing around with the ice. I don’t have the highest hopes to be honest but do look forward to giving it a go.

I’ve found a couple groups of crappies and if walleye fishing fails I sure hope I can find the crappies again
