I have been out 4 times in the last 3 weeks. Only for 2-3 hours each time. That doesn’t give me enough time on the water to really make a comment or say I have been truly chasing them. I have had a couple of follows but no eaters. Wish I didn’t have so much other stuff I need to do and could be on the water more. Best of luck to all.
July 24, 2018 at 2:34 pm #1787346I went out on Saturday morning for about 4 hours and hooked up with 3 muskies. I was only able to land one of them because one got off boat side and there was an issue with my partner using the net on another. I was able to land one of them at least, and I believe it was the biggest of the three. They were just smashing a fast moving lure in 4-14 feet.
July 24, 2018 at 10:27 pm #1787433No luck out there. Spent around 6 hrs on White Bear throwing bucktails and bulldawgs with not even a follow. I’m a newb at this so I wasn’t expecting much. Crazy that I can see one or two cruising everytime I’m out bass fishing but they disappear when I’m actually targeting them.

I am the same way. If I have my musky gear I don’t see them as much but if I don’t have it I find them everywhere. I wish my boat was big enough to have everything with me.

The first month and half of fishing (not counting trolling days) I was getting all kinds of fish to chase but very few bites. We were raising anywhere from 5-15 fish a day but no bites more often than not. The last 2 weeks has been the opposite, with multiple fish in the net every day and literally not a single follow in that span. Almost all of my “days” consist of about 3 hours around sunrise or sunset since my first child was born a month ago… right now I’m thankful for every minute I can get on the water. Still haven’t had a 1 fish day yet this year, so when they’re going… they’re going.
August 1, 2018 at 10:37 pm #1789043Got 2 small ones monday night on topwater below a local dam. Fished league tonight after the front and it was slow, partner had one wake in behind a topwater but it spooked at the boat.

Weather was great, fishing was slow. First time on the lake, will be back!August 2, 2018 at 10:30 am #1789136I hit Vermilion this past weekend. 1 nice follow, boated 1 small Ski.
Weather was great, fishing was slow. First time on the lake, will be back!Vermillion is such a awesome lake I love it up there. One of our go to camping destinations. Plenty of fishing for me to do. And a million recreational things for the entire family. Plus the new state park is absolutely beautiful
BesoxPosts: 590August 3, 2018 at 8:23 am #1789329What campsite do you prefer? East or West side?
We stay on the east side of the lake. Have done both McKinley in sudan or the new vermillion state park. I like them both and I prefer fishing that side of the lake and north. The new state park has wifi the best bathrooms and showers around. Depending on the camping you do.
