I was out on rush lake this evening burning bucktails and had a really nice follow up low 50s or upper 40s. Had my heart pumping like no other. I was fishing a wind point over 20fow.
Any one else getting them to move about in this heat

Still amazes me that there 50s in rush lol. My bro caught a 52″ on rush a few years ago.

I feel the same way about the lake and same with forest. My biggest one was 54 on forest lake a few years ago and I was amazed.
Ive been in one heck of a slump, although had one miss a topwater last night right before the front hit.

Where have you been fishing at
I haven’t been out specifically targeting muskies yet, but I have caught a couple of tigers “on accident” while I’ve been bass fishing.
I was planning on hit a Wisconsin river on Sunday on my way home but looks like everything in the area is blown out with the rain.
I seen 5 get taken today 2 in my boat both under 35 and the boat near me hit 2 and other got 1. So pretty active morning
Just a reminder to anyone fishing Rush there is a no wake within 300 ft of shore restriction on the lake right now. Recent heavy rains have lots of docks under water.

That’s what I heard but seen nothing in regards to people following those rules or enforcing the rules. Let alone any sort of signage on the launches at all.
On Saturday there was a sign posted at the landing on East Rush, not sure about West. Now not everyone is following the rules, there has been boats, pontoons and jet skis to close to shore running above a no wake speed.
Oh yeah I launched on west and didn’t see any coming in or out. Yeah people were ripping all over the lake Saturday?
Did you have any luck musky Tim?
I’m finally heading to Canada on Wednesday for a much needed musky adventure. Hopefully I come back with beat up hands and some sweet photos!

I’ll write a report regardless. Looks like good stable weather though so they should be biting!

I just drove through thru the landing to see if a sign was posted. Wife had read on Chisago County Facebook page the wake restriction was on. The way people were flying around it seemed that nothing was posted. DNR did have a AIS inspector there and the landing parking lot was full.
We live on the lake and I haven’t been out, dock is under water and not enough clearance to get the boat off the lift. Took our daughter and son-in-law’s pontoon out Saturday for a cruise but did not fish.

Yeah we stopped at the pontoon tie up on the north end of the lake for a little bit and jammed to some live tunes. Does that happen often up there ?
Bearcat,
Yeah there has been three parties like that around the lake so far this summer that I know of. Also Flickabirds does a Flickafest at some point over the summer They also host the fireworks for the Fourth.

Flickafest is the 28th of July. We were out on the lake today casting again. My wife wouldn’t wait and was casting off the dock while I loaded the boat in. She hooked a 35 inch pike right off the dock. But it was the only fish we got. Didn’t help we stopped with another couple and had a drink at the grumpy minnow. Which took way longer then expected. When we got back to the boat the wife was cold and wanted to go home so I missed prime time but she caught a good one so it was all worth it.
I got a future 50 tonight to break the dry streak, taped out at a whopping 30.5. Cute little bugger slurped a markowitz topper. Can only go up from here!

Are you fishing the evening hours or mornings.
I am going to try it today and maybe tomorrow too in the rain. I have been waiting for a slow moving low pressure front and its finally here so its time.
Mostly evenings but have mixed it up. It was pike fest last night, plus a lazy follow from a low 30s.

Indeed! I am obligated to sell boat raffle tickets tonight otherwise would be in the same boat as you, pun intended!
Going to try and get out on White Bear Saturday as last week that monsoon rained us out right before we launched. Still going for my first fish, guess I haven’t reached 10,000 casts yet.
