Go to a seed store and buy it.

Yes that’s always an option. But sometimes farmers have extra bags or partial bags that they don’t want.

I think it’s too early for farmers to have extra. Unless its from last year. Depending on your location, most haven’t planted yet.

I would check the local seed dealer. I know our local has given me or sold cheap broken bags. If for a food plot may not require you to have an ag license for round up ready. If they do they arent very hard to obtain.

You won’t need an ag license to buy RR corn.
Checking with the local seed dealer, farmers when they clean out the planter, maybe your local Pheasants Forever chapter(that’s where I got mine this year).

Why wouldnt you need an ag license. Im sorry i guess it says technology number on it. You need it to purchase round up ready seeds. You need it to order online or at farm stores.

A bag of corn seed is almost an endangered species. None of my ag customers do bags of corn anymore. It’s all bulk totes now for the vast majority of producers, it takes way too long to fill a planter by dumping bags in one at a time.

I don’t do seed corn for food plot customers anymore, it’s too hard to get bagged corn and then the $150-225 per bag price makes it a tough sell.

It’s too early for farm leftovers, most of MN has barely gotten started on corn. Call your local feed store or grain elevator, they may be able to give you numbers of local dealers that may have some bagged test plot seed available.

DT is correct, you will need a grower’s agreement in place for on-patent Roundup Ready varieties. It used to be a Monsanto Stewardship Number, now it’s called a Bayer Stewerdship Agreement. Gen 1 Roundup Ready is off-patent, but everything else still requires a grower’s agreement. Agcelerate.com makes it easy.

It’s too late now, but I get my corn seed from MDHA. This year a bag RR corn that plants 2.5 acres was $45.

You usually have to order from them in January.

Or be in an MDHA area that actually notifies their members when it’s time to order seed. flame flame flame
