Made the trip there on Friday and saw tents out by “shanty town” can any one report ice thickness out from the park? Did not see anyone out there this afternoon. Also drove by the access road and it was barricaded, is that normal this time of year I assume the road will open up once the ice is deemed “safe”. Thinking about walking out into the morning! Thanks for any input!

I hope the barricade is temporary to save potential idiots from themselves.
However the flip side is whoever put it up are taking responsibility for advocating safe driveable ice when they pull it down. I’m worried its not temp.

I know there was some talk a few years back with the city council about closing it! I as well hope it is temporary!

Maybe a call to the city of Bayport will help. I know there is an ongoing tiff with the adjacent property owners but havent a clue if it was resolved. Otherwise, there is always the Ferry Landing access out of N Hudson- – -jerr

I just called the city administration desk spoke with Karen who said it is temporary until the ice is “safe”

Sweet. Just not used to common sense these days. Especially from government agencies. That winter road is an institution. And those accesses the only ones of their kind in the area.
