Any Ice in Northwestern Wisconsin?

Just curious on if any of the smaller lakes are starting to skin over up in northern wisconsin. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

70 miles nw of the twin cities, skim one day, off the next, you’ll need a week of sub freezing days and nights with no snow.

Small lakes and shallow shaded bays are trying to here in Rhinelander. Weather isn’t favorable to make and keep ice though. They want to, but it’s going to take a couple weeks to lock them up, maybe more if it stays mild in the daytime.

I have property in MN west of Superior WI with multiple small lakes. Many were showing skim ice as early as Oct 26th. So far nothing has locked up with the wind and warm temps.

Back to some skim ice. Overnight low of 21° with calm conditions.

Near Bruce,WI this morning. Hole by shore is from pulling out a jet ski lift. 1/4-1/2″ of ice

Tom Boley has not posted anything, in a long time (for him-he can post 6 in a week!) so its domestic drama or too much ice for the boat and not enough for the feet.

Seen a guy out on Lake Alice yesterday east of Tomahawk

Thanks Everyone for the updates i’m planning on going out on a smaller lake this weekend to chase after some gills. Not expecting much just hoping to get on some ice. Good luck to everyone else going out this weekend.

I do have limited ice in protected bays in Phillip’s area. I’d suggest going a little further north.
