Any Fake Chewers Here?

I quit the real stuff last year and have been on various nicotine pouches (whatever is on sale lol)

They’ve been working for me until I truly decide quit and just wanted to share a heads up on a great deal.

A lot of times the normal price of them in Minnesota is $7-$9 for a tin/box (similar price of real chew)

Right now every Holiday I’ve been into in the last few days has the Velo Pouches for $1, and it’s buy 2 get one free on top of it waytogo

$0.66 cents a pack is a hell of a lot better than $7-$9 for those of you that are using them already or want to kick the real tobacco habit.

    Time to stock up!

Gave it up quickly after trying, nasty. Jerky if I wanna chew on something. Worked with an old railroad man for many years that went through 3 tins of Copenhagen per day, he would eat with it in, and he never spit.

B-man, thank you. I’m gonna try this out. I’ve been a chewer for most of my adult life. A few months ago I started using Grinds to supplement the normal tobacco. Grinds are basically flavored coffee pouches, and I started using them with the hopes I’d transition to just using them, but they’re just not exciting me quite enough to replace the real thing. Thanks for thinking of others. I’m not usually near the metro/TC suburbs (where I mostly find Holidays) but tomorrow I will be near one so I’m gonna get some.

Thanks for the heads up, ive been using zyn for the past 2 weeks after making the decision to quit after 18 years of various flavors of longcut.

The zyn seems to be working to cut the edge and I’ve been tobacco free 2 weeks straight. This is the longest ive gone in 18 years without throwing a dip in, hoping i can ween the crutch at some point, but just glad im able to give my gums a rest. At that price point, I think ill be switching to the velos.

Im assuming they are pouches, too?

Tradersbayrookie, they are pouches just like Zyn is (I’ve bought those plenty of times too)

The real stuff is the real deal, plain and simple. It’s also horrible for you. Have tried plenty of substitutes but there’s just not much comparison all around. I guess the fact(lol) is that in a perfect world we wouldn’t need any “thing” to make our moments better. Life should be good enough as is and natural longevity should be the goal. Now, off my soapbox and back to my habit(s)….

Edit: For anyone who may be irritated or offended by what I just wrote- These are just thoughts I personally have and tend to believe as truth, despite my self-destructive habits and lack of willpower!

I will be grabbing a few logs of this.
I’m in the process of quiting smoking, I don’t chew but it helps me ease the urge. Even better if it’s not a actual pinch of cope

I did the coffee chew stuff right out of college when trying to quit. It helped, but didn’t take the place of a good pinch of SKOAL. Each time I filled up with gas or went somewhere where I would’ve bought a log, I threw a $10 or $20 in the console of my truck. Eventually after a few months of this I took notice to cash starting to quickly pile up. Beyond this, I basically quit cold turkey. To this day if someone put a tin in front of me it would have no appeal whatsoever.

Thanks for the heads up on this, I’ll have to run over and pick some up. Another option not as cheap is northerner.com to get lower price stuff shipped right to you. In lieu of the $7-9 a tin they’ve got anything you can think of from $1-5 a tin, found them sometime ago with decent deals so if I wasn’t going out of state for a while I’d order a bunch from them.

This thread brought up some interesting thoughts. First I don’t chew so I am not the one to have any experience. I worked in a gas station in a small farming community in Wisconsin. Copenhagen was 25 cents a tin then and often a guy would come in and look at the date, knew we had some in the back and asked if we had anything fresher. Second, I had a friend that would collect empty Copenhagen packages, he would get 1000 – 2000 a year then sell them to the local bait shops for packaging waxies in the winter, which was the way they came. Lastly I have a good friend in Texas who has weaned himself off chew. Told me that he used to put a pinch in before he went to bed, sleep all night with it in. I only tried chew once and that was enough, I cannot imagine all night. Uffda

I’ve tried those pouches and not a fan of them personally. I only chew occasionally now.

Kudos and good luck to those who’ve quit and those still trying! I wish everyone success in quitting tobacco, whether it’s smoking, vaping, chew, or these new pouch things. I can tell ya first hand it’s MUCH better kissing someone who doesn’t use these products than someone who does. smash

I used to dip a lot. I have been quit almost 8 years now. I used a web site called kill the can. they had a very unique approach to helping people quit cold turkey. If you are serious about quitting, check out the web site.

Btw- that “Smokey Mountain” crap with ginseng and clover is disgusting. Tastes like raisins and is fine cut so gets everywhere.

Been off the Copenhagen for 16 years come June 1st. Anyone else able to walk into their grocery store at age 12 and buy a can of snoose? Going back to Jr hi school in the fall with the “ring” in the back pocket of all your jeans? Growing up in a small town in the early 80’s. To those quitting, got to take it hour by hour, day by day. I am not going to chew (or smoke) today.

I’ve quit smoking, chewing, and occasional jazz lettuce. Chewing was by far the hardest to quit. I’m not sure why. Took several attempts. Back about 6 years ago I could have just about have sprinkled copenhagen long cut on my cereal in the morning I loved it so much. Took my 2 year old son walking around spitting everywhere to make me finally decide enough is enough.

Lucky for me the first time I chewed I threw up and never did it again. Anyone try sun flower seeds to help aid in quitting?

Ive been a quitter for 4 years now, haven’t touched the real stuff since but I still get triggered while fishing. I’ve tried a ton of different fake chews but I just came across one that I think I will stick with. Cannadips. They are pouches so if that’s a deal breaker it’s probably not for you. They have ten mg’s of CBD in each pouch. They have mint, wintergreen, citrus, mango, and a cinnamon type flavor as well.

These feel EXACTLY like Skoal pouches. Stick to the citrus and mint ones. The wintergreen barely has any flavor but the those two are really good. Taste great and like I said, feels just like regular Skoal pouches. A bit pricey at $10 but I think they are as real as any fake chew gets.

No tobacco, NO NICOTINE. I just need the mouth feel so the no nicotine doesn’t bother me. And the cbd helps with my back pain.

Oh man, Red Man and Apple Jack. Brings me back to my college baseball days which started the whole awful habit in the first place. Man did I love it though.

We’d buy the Bazooka gum buckets, trash the gum, and fill it up with long leaf and keep it on the bench.

I was a 20plus year Copenhagen chewer. When, at the time, my 9 year old son looked at me and said “I cant wait till I’m older so I can chew like you dad” I pitched the can, never went back. I have supplemented with “Smokey Mountain” here and there and it serves a purpose.

Like said before, “You have to want to quit”

I was a 1 can a day Cope guy for 15yrs (age 16 to 31), ended up deciding a nicer boat was more important. what I spent on Cope per month covered a boat payment easily

the 1st 2 weeks were the toughest, then it was easy. About 1 year after I went golfing with a buddy, had a small pinch of Cope and the world started spinning quickly….

Also, I tried medication to help quit initally, dont recall what it was at the moment but it made me feel like a zombie. stopped it after a week

Bottom line for me was to decide what was more important at the moment, getting a boat or chewing

I quit tobacco 17 years ago~no problem. I was in the hospital having a myocardial infarction and would you believe….they wouldn’t let me smoke! So I quit. No problem…..I was on a morphine drip and I didn’t have any withdrawal issues at all. Haven’t used any nicotine since …..because if I gave in, I would be hooked again and I know it. And yes, I tried various chews and other methods to quit before the heart attack.
