Looks like I’ll finally be able to get the boat on the water this weekend. With the warm Temps today and tomorrow the water temps should rise greatly by Sat. Anyone have any info. on a decent Crappie bite in the South Metro. Feel free to PM me if you prefer. Thanks.

I have not been out this spring, but I have had some really good luck in the some of the bays on lower prior in past years.

I’ve had a decent bite going much further south than south metro….crappies similar to bowtecmike’s. We were loaded and headed home by 10 this morning.

Tom, I had heard the bite had picked up recently. Some of our locals have done well on more than one trip! Keep up the hunt! And enjoy a few for supper!!

Daaaang those are some nice slabs bowtecmike! I’ve done well this spring also but the biggest I’ve pulled in is 13″ roughly. Had one day where I had my limit in 2 hrs. All between 11″ and 12.5″. Was nuts.

What were your water temps? Not sure if I should go north or south of the metro this weekend. Spawn is about 64. fairboult lakes could be too warm by the weeekend I think. What have you guys seen for temps?

So are those hybrids? Seem too dark to be a white crappie but not nearly as dark as I’ve been seeing. They still eat the same I know that much LOL

There’s a handful of white crappies mixed in. I got one just under 15″ a few days ago that was a big white crappie!

Fished west of the metro yesterday, boat control was tough with the strong winds but managed to get a couple limits of crappies. Water temps were 68 in the am and down to 62 in the afternoon, fish were still out in 12-15 feet on the weed line. Females looked ready to pop but had not moved up yet, didn’t get a single bite in shallow.

I did manage to find some Crappies in the South Metro on Sat. I think the fish had just pulled up shallow. They were not in this same spot last Thursday.
