Any current reports?

Thinking of heading up early next week. I have a smaller boat so the low winds are intriguing to me. Helps me get my boat on the water up there but, probably hinders the better fishing. Looking at fishing from probably about 8am until 3 pm. Spinners?? Lead core?? Any help on recent bites would be appreciated.

Spinners, leadcore, and slip bobbers are all working. Depends on where you find fish. I was catching them last weekend pulling lead on top of the mud flats and suspended off the flats. Then I switched to spinners on top of the flats and caught them too. If you find fish that aren’t moving much slip bobbers work great as a way to pick apart a school of fish. Good luck!

Anyone been out? Curious if it’s still a tough bite. Heading up next weekend. Any info on water temps?

Out yesterday on south end. Fished mostly gravel, but tried trolling some nearer shore breaks too. Really tough bite. Only one on crawlers and cranks. Missed a couple on lindy rig. Everything was tight to the bottom where we looked.

Good day to practice boat control…

Glad I wasn’t the only one having it tough yesterday. Saw the same on the south end out of Cove, few marks close to the bottom but couldn’t get anything to take. Buddy got a nice pike on a flicker shad but that was it.

Yep, we launched at Cove too.

Not many boats out there and didn’t see a net all day.

Someone was on them somewhere though…haha

Ah, we were the crazy fools on kayaks out there. Was quite the workout getting back to the launch.

Had good luck in that area a few weeks ago when the wind was coming from the north. Got a big walleye on the other side of the shallows straight out of Cove and a few more trolling around Anderson’s reef.

Haha, kayaks on Mille lacs. Interesting. I’m sure they’re out there once in a while but I’ve never seen it!

See a guy in garrison area every spring in kayak. Think he has a place straight out from a good bobber spot. Seen him catch several each spring.
Saw like six of them in the middle of the lake in like 3 plus footers. They were paddling straight across the lake with the waves. Damndest thing I ever seen out there. Saw them coming from a ways away and they just kept going Northwest.

Anybody been out? Have this week off and have been waiting for the wind to finally give up and looks like it will next couple days.

Haven’t been over there since early August. Is bite turning on?

Walleye bite was slow this past weekend but the water was still 70 degrees. The smallmouth bite however was pretty solid. She be heating up any day however.

Good to hear about the smallmouth. Planning on being up there Saturday to chase some footballs.

Was up last Friday, were a few Smallies deep, but majority came from under 10’. We did have a 21”, her belly was starting to get fatter…
