Any Axe throwers out there? Curious what brand / style / size axe you are using? I see a couple league legal options on Amazon. Any tips for home made targets? Any info welcome.

Spent some time tossing axe back in the military days. Been a lot of years since. Thinking of setting up a target at the cabin for kicks. Seems to be getting popular again.

I remember throwing tomahawks in Boy Scouts when I was a kid.

Man was that a lot of fun once you got it dialed in waytogo

Make sure to buy lots of extra handles )

Our targets were just big slabs cross cut from logs. They were about 2.5-3 feet in diameter, and maybe 8″ thick.

    Something like this….

I recently played at Flannel Jax. It was a blast!

I would think you’d want the wood grain going verticle. Also, they sprayed a little water (like mist) on the wood before throwing. I think this softens it up and opens the pores. My uncle is going to make some targets so I’ll try to get pictures

I throw hawks and axes any chance i get but sadly it’s not very often. I have seen on YouTube people making end grain targets. Take a 4×4 or whatever you have and cot them in chunks 5 or 6″ long and stack them together in a square so the ends you cut are facing up and attach them to a back board with or without a frame. Im planning to make one this summer. And im working on a bearded tomahawk made from a camp axe. I don’t know of any local leagues though.
