Another plug for Joe's Sporting Goods in St Paul

I dropped by today to have a couple rod tips replaced. Usually do this myself but I had a couple questions about the integrity of these rods so I figured I’d bring ’em in. The folks at the fishing counter had my questions answered and rod tips replaced in short order. On one of the rods, the employee said he had a tough time getting the tip to sit perfect and said it wasn’t his best work but it was the best he could do with this tip. It looked great to me, but he insisted it was free. They normally charge $4 per tip and $2 labor. He handed me a ticket for $5.

That kind of customer service makes a guy just wanna browse through the aisles and buy some more stuff he doesn’t need. They also had several staff stocking tackle and ready to answer questions.

Just thought I’d share. We see a lot of crap about the big shops falling apart these days. Joe’s is a great resource for us metro area guys. Give them a try if you haven’t already.

They only do rod tips. Not lower guides or seats or anything more complicated.

It’s a breath of fresh air to visit a location that knows how to take care of it’s customers.

Joe’s has been in the top five friendlies bait shops since I can remember. And their employees last too!

I took in an Eskimo quickfish 6 that I bought there a couple years prior. I told them that I had taken a bunch of family members and whiskey fishing a couple weeks ago and that when I had tried to set it up today a pole was completely gone. I handed them a wet/snowy house, they took it back and replaced a pole in a few minutes, and they sent me on my way back to the lake for free.

If Joes were to ever expand into the Rochester area I’d give them a lot of business. Love the place, but its just not “here”….sure wish we had one though.

Staff at Joe’s is always very helpful and knowledgeable. They are quite generous with their bait as well. They’re always my first go to for my fishing needs.
