Thanks for the update Grouse. Kendall is a great guy! I was at his house 2 weeks ago talking to him about his recovery and things looked bright.

I am very sad as well and am praying for him to get better soon.

    Update on Kendall.

I was at the hospital to see him yesterday (Thurs 11/14).

Unfortunately, things are not trending in the right direction. He continues to have a massive number of seizures every hour despite the fact that they are pumping him full of anti-seizure drugs and these should have quieted things down days ago.

Yesterday the seizures ramped up even more and so the doctors put Kendall in a medically induced coma last night in hopes that this will halt the seizures and give the brain a total reset. Kendall was quite distressed at the prospect of being put in a coma and he is quite foggy from all the medications, so this is very difficult for him. This coma could last up to a week, or so that is what they said yesterday.

The doctors have also stepped the effort to find the underlying cause. I don’t know much about this except that the neurologist said that it is exceptionally rare for seizures to ramp up while under treatment unless there is some large underlying cause which so far they don’t seem to have many ideas about what it might be. He has had multiple scans, bloodwork, etc, etc, so it is a bit worrying that they still don’t know what’s causing this.

Sorry to say Kendall didn’t get much good news yesterday. His family and mother are very concerned. I have told him before he went under repeatedly that all his IDO friends are thinking of him and praying for him. Keep doing so, please.

If anyone wants info on visiting Kendall, etc, please PM me.

Please continue to pray for Kendall. I think of him constantly. He has so many good friends on this site. He always talked fondly of seeing Mike W. or Pete Bauer, Jon J., Dan, or Bushman out on the river. Of fishing for steelhead with Rootski. He loved fishing the contest mainly because he got to see so many of his good friends and chase some big walleye out on P2. I fished with him often and would offer him gas money and he would refuse, saying that he simply enjoyed getting out on the river with a good friend. He is as good of a man and fishing buddy that one could ever ask for. He loved going on trips with the famous grouse and Jeffy chasing canadian walleye or brook trout. He spoke so fondly of taking his nephews out fishing. I have really struggled with why such a good man would be struck with such medical problems. We are all supporting you KWP and hope for a miracle. My one hope in life is to get out with you again chasing those big walleye on pool 2 or giant brown trout on secluded streams. Keep faith my dear friend.

If success in life is measured by the friendships a guy makes, I would say you two have done very well. toast
