Too many people have died on the St Croix on July 3rd. We want to see you people back here to finish up the Traffic Enforcement post on Tuesday!

Assume that everyone is new to boating and drunk. That’s a good start.
Then look ahead and don’t let yourself get locked into a unsafe position…like in front of a tow. If you can’t see the pilot house windows, the captain can’t see you.

Wear your PFD! Get an inflatable if you don’t have one!
    Use your engine tether.

Be safe all…I’ll be guiding on the water Saturday, then enjoying Blueberry Vodka and Cock & Bull Ginger Beer the rest of the weekend (tied to the dock).

Not to hard to put the clients on eagles.I think it could be easier than guiding for blugills.

    It’s daylight too.

Many folks come to this area to watch and take photos of the bird that’s taken for granted.

Always thought being a Musky guide would be great. You don’t have to catch anything. A follow or a sighting is a success. whistling

Skeeter – It’s legal in Sconny, isn’t it? wave rotflol and yes they did have on PFD’s. It keeps them closer to the prop when they fall off. flame

We saw a couple groups parked up the island from us, attempting backflips off the top railing of a rental houseboat into ~5′ of water. The group of people we were with asked what we’d do if someone broke their neck…I said “Probably mix a cocktail, or maybe turn the brats one last time on the grill”

Overall of the thousands of boats we saw on the river yesterday, I really only saw 2 overly dangerous issues with erratic driving. The jet skis even seemed to keep their distance from most people which was a pleasant surprise.

Fyi, the Muskie guides around Alexandria have a very high success rate, meaning if someone books two day trips they’re more than likely going to get a muskie in the boat.

One of my walleye clients went with a local muskie guide and caught 3 muskie in one day. 48″ 51″ and 52″.

These guys have it dialed in. From talking with the musky guides, people expect results and it sounds like they don’t disappoint often.

Sounds like we lost one at the Prescott/Pt Douglas Beach area.

    Suspected drowning.

We just can’t seem to get through a 4th weekend on the Croix without a fatality.

Looks like the rain we’ve had barely put a dent in the low water. I really want to get out and target smallmouth with this cool down but I usually go out of the Boomsite. Any other launches that aren’t too low to launch at near stillwater?

They are all pretty tough but I can still manage up where I go. North of there
