Billy and I went fishing last weekend in Northern Cass County for our 8th wedding anniversary. It was hot and muggy! Water temps were about 71-73 degrees and fishing was slow. It rained and stormed Saturday morning and periodically throughout the day, but we managed to get some fishing in anyway.
Billy managed to catch two walleyes in the early afternoon. The winds picked up in the evening and I caught three small perch. Billy caught a nice sunny and we thought maybe we’d finally found them! But we ended up only catching the one. Nothing much was happening as the lake calmed down from the weather.
We had our GSP Fritz out in the boat with us for his first time fishing. He was a little skittish at first and was pretty vocal about his excitement, but the longer we were out the more he relaxed and even laid down on the bench for a while. That is, until one of us brought in a fish. He was definitely curious!
It was a fun (and hot!) weekend in the woods together and we had a lovely anniversary celebration.
