This to me looks strikingly similar to the MN DNR’s Mille lacs style of lake management.

For those reading, there are 2 incidents being discussed here. The first was the Canadian case concerning the killing of the musky that has not been ruled yet. The second is of the 6 guys in South Dakota that were fined for their 84 walleyes over the limit, while evading having their licenses revoked or equipment confiscated by SD DNR.
Just think of all the people out there that do these sort of things and don’t get busted. It’s a sad day for the honest angler when stuff like this happens regardless of prosecution, but a slap on the wrist is just insulting.

I read thru the link but can’t find anything saying the violators in SD got away on a technicality?

“Search Permission” They were only fined and not revoked/confiscated because they cooperated and allowed themselves to be searched.

This occured on devils lake in ND. The most recent issue of Dakota Country has the details of the dismissal. No loss of privileges, no loss of equipment and no fines. Total bs.
