I have been wanting to fish the river for awhile. My question is what style of anchor is best used on the river? I have 18.5 foot nitro fish & ski. Any input would be grateful.

I have tried many different types of anchors on the river and the only one that will consistently hold every time and in any conditions and water level and speed is called a water spike made by panther I think. And its light and will store flat. the river is always an adventure and you wont get dizzy going in circles all day. Good luck And have fun.

Don’t forget a few feet of chain right before the anchor itself. The extra weight will help it set in and also help prevent the rope from getting cut by rocks.

X2 Water spike and length of chain. Always holds my 1890 Warrior in current or waves.

Have several other anchors no better than large paperweights.

Thanks for the replies. I will have to look into the spike.
