Anchor Bungees/Shock Absorbers – How Well Do They Work?

I’ve seen a few options over the years, and I’m just wondering if they’re worth the money? Seems like a good idea, but I’ve never fished in/with a boat who had one. Just looking for thoughts from some guys who have had a chance to play with em. Thanks!

Awesome. For me it’s the difference of being anchored in 2-3′ rollers and having the bow taking waves or not.

Plus I just leave it on the front cleat and makes for a nice quick dock rope.

I have two different kinds… don’t use them as much the last few years with the Spot Lock on the trolling motor – but when needed, they do help for sure.

I use the $2.50 FF version so to speak, wouldn’t anchor without my bungee.

They work very well for me! My boat has a large footprint and I’m up with higher side than many. I anchor off the rear corner and attach the bungee as apposed to the bow to get rid of the ripping jerk type of motion

Thanks for the responses guys! Between the single/double Anchor Shock and the G-PAS, which would you guys prefer? I was thinking of the double Anchor Shock, but I’m worried about the wind/waves pushing the bow of the boat back and forth, because the anchor points are so far back on the cleats? I’ve never been super confident in anchors holding while turned sideways, does the double Anchor Shock keep the anchor from walking? I’m thinking I might just buy the single version, and attach it to the bow winch loop when I launch.

Took some photos last night of what I do. I do not have any experience with a commercial anchor bungee product, but I have been using this method since before there was a commercial option.

Safety is my only concern should the bungee break, but I do tie of the anchor rope to the boat to prevent over stretch of the bungee.

I’ll add a second bungee for heavier current but for bottom like sand I typically use 1 to hold better.

    Here’s two pics
