Finally moved back to MN after 30+ years. Purchased a pristine 2006 Triton DV176 Magnum with a Johnson 115 kicker. No more old, crappy motors pushing old, crappy boats. The one isuue is the boat came with a Lowrance LMS-332c locator – and no chip. Talked to Lowrance, can’t be updated for new chips as it only has 1G and new chips need 4. Really just need to know where I am on the lake and what it looks like below- I can get fancy later. Wondering A) what chips the unit can take and B) other than eBay, any other sources. Thanks in advance. It’s good to be back home…

Welcome back to MN! Glad to have another tax payor!LOL

Not sure but it was somewhere in 2011 that Johnson Outdoors purchased Lakemaster and ever since Lakemasters will no longer work in a Lawrence unit. I would watch all the fishing boards you can and you will see some of the older LakeMaster chips come up for sale. Not sure of the version numbers but I am sure you could google or others will chime in.

You are correct. Humminbird now produces Lakemaster. To the best of my knowledge, all their new chips are no longer compatible with Lowrance. I’ll keep looking. Thanks.

If your new boat has a 115 “kicker”, how big is the main motor? lol
If you just need know where you are on the lake and what’s going on below, I would think the GPS internal mapping would fill that need without additional chips but I could be wrong. Not sure why Timmy PM’d unless he has a secret or something to sell. Others’ might like to know what you find out.
    BTW, welcome… wave

426 Hemi fully blown. The 115 kicker is just so I can save some gas getting back to the ramp ;)
