Stopped by the Scheels in Eden Prairie on the way home from work today and they finally had what looked to be a good supply of not only factory ammo but a decent selection of powder and reloading supplies (I know this is relative compared to before pandemic levels). Talked to a friend in Bemidji and he said L&M Fleet had a fair supply of 9m and other calibers as well. Has anyone else noticed this at other stores? I would like to think we are slowly coming out of the bare shelving mode but thought I would get a broader view before I get excited. Thoughts?

Scheel’s in Eau Claire has been getting more and more variety, including 12 ga pheasant rounds.

I saw a fair amount of ammo at the Scheels in St Cloud earlier this week. Even a good amount of 12 gauge pheasant ammo and 9mm handgun ammo. Prices were noticeably higher though.

I’m still scratching for 20 ga. target loads to maintain 100 rounds a week. With a $8 cap limit, and 3 or 4 box limit.. Last night 5 or 6 choices of 9mm, $17 to $60 per 50. 38 and 380 are still non existent. But they changed limit. To allow 3 boxes of 2 different calibers. For a total of 6 boxes. Most popular hunting rifle rounds were available and not ridiculous. Couple moths ago you could fill a bath tub with deer slugs. That were ordered for last deer season. Then showed up in February. But I wouldn’t wait till November to buy them.

Noticed the same thing at Runnings in Monticello yesterday. Not full shelves by any means, but a little of several calibers. Had plenty of 223 & 5.56 plinking ammo and some better load options. Grabbed a box of Winchester 77gr match to try out. Prices I would estimate are still 40-50% higher than 18 months ago. Had some reloading supplies, but not a lot. Did not look at the shotshell aisle though.
I was there more for some fishing stuff and they were well stocked on virtually everything from plastics to terminal tackle to crankbaits. Which is nice.

Update. Finally found some 20 gauge target loads for my son yesterday. Cabela’s had one case of Herters on the shelf.

Spendy at $8.60 a box but what can you do? Couldn’t pass them up because knows when I’ll get another chance. I got 4 boxes which will probably be all he’ll shoot this fall anyway.
