Digging up an OLD post about Amazon? Couldnt possibly be because of what is going on in the Twitter and Parler World, could it????
Prime is great, my Wife has probably returned 5 things since Christmas and as soon as it gets scanned for return (for free) by UPS, a refund is applied to her account. I dont like forgetting the small stores in our little towns, but some stuff you just cant get there.

If the price of gas goes up, I won’t bother driving to any store just to find out they have nothing in stock.

Replacing what’s in the box is a scam that goes back way before Amazon. I have a relative who works as a manager at a big box store and for a long time the biggest scam was people would sneak the expensive big brand drill out of the box and put that drill in the cheap drill box and go and check out and get the price for the cheap drill. Then the guy who bought the expensive drill would come back p!ssed off because he got the CheapMaster 9000 drill instead of the expensive one he thought he bought.

I did some consulting work with a large nationwide retailer and the people from loss prevention had amazing stories of just what people will come up with to scam the company. It’s mind blowing what people can come up with.

My 15 year old son ordered an ethernet cable off amazon with a gift card he received for christmas. He ordered the wrong one with the wrong plug on the end and requested an RMA. He received one and I brought the package to the UPS store and generated a return label for it. Searching on the Amazon RMA tracking site the RMA number returns no results so he is out whatever he paid for it. I have heard all the same stories of bait and switch as was initially reported in this request. Ive read they dont even look at what’s returned and only put it in the appropriate “bin”, returned due to defective or return due to dont want it type of deal and the latter is what likely happened to the OP.

ONLY and I mean ONLY order a product if it’s a PRIME product. It’s always free returns, no questions asked.

Well it was a free return, he just didnt get his refund back on the gift card. Lesson learned for him. I never knew he ordered it. He made multiple mistakes with the purchase. First he didnt listen to his oldest brother and order the correct one and two didnt apparently order from a reputable retailer. No actual money lost since it was a gift card he received, but he is without an ethernet cable. No idea how much it was, probably not much.

On Dec 5th I got an email saying a laptop that was ordered on my account was being shipped to a ‘Pete’ in St.Cloud at the tune of $1047.00. I put a hold on the credit card tied to the prime account before it was charged and talked with amazon. They put my account on hold 3 days, reset everything/passwords and such and said the issue was taken care of. A few days later I turned that credit card back on and left for a 10 day vacation. Upon returning and going through my vacation purchases I notice I was indeed charged the $1047.00 although amazon said they got the laptop back and it was ‘taken care of’. It took a few hours of wasted time over the last 2 weeks but I was finally refunded yesterday.

    It’s crazy isn’t it?
I was a store manager for Walgreens and just when you think you’ve seen it all, well…
People go through the trash outside looking for receipts of cash transactions. Then they steal the items listed and return them for the cash.

My favorite feature of PRIME now is when an item says “In Stock” and you will receive by Wednesday. Then AFTER you order it, it says, you item will arrive 10 days AFTER Wednesday… sure you can cancel but wtf. So you wait and it says “Waiting for shipment” for 2 weeks… meh. I think it grew too fast…. and yeah, I do take issue with silencing those with opposing views too, because you have the power to be the internet bully.

Everything that I order on eBay comes from China and typically takes 4 – 6 weeks for delivery. I can handle Amazon being a week late considering the circumstances.

In my business, if I told you your car would be fixed by 5pm… when I knew in fact, it was 5pm next week, but didn’t tell you that until after you approved the work… would that be fair ? That’s all I am saying.

That and I do take issue with silencing those who disagree with you.

Yeah, all businesses should just to to, “We don’t know when the f’k we’ll get parts or when you’ll get what you ordered.”

If they know 2 seconds AFTER you hit the order button… aw, just forget it.

I received the same email Pete. I logged in to Amazon by going to my link and looked… nothing there, then I went to my credit card and no extra charge there… so I sent the email to abuse. I think it was last week when I received my email.

Grouse, I needed new wiper blades a few years back. I was surprised at the cost and mentioned it to an acquaintance. They told me to go to Walmart and buy the most most expensive blades they had. Then go outside an put them on my truck, put my old blades in the new packaging and return them. I never thought that same of that person since.
