Well, I don’t post often but tonight was an amazing sunset on Mille Lacs. Something you can only see on a day with a lot of melting on the surface…. for your pleasure.

Also for the guys that are coming up and finding the fish spooky to spoons and shad rap like baits during the daytime. Don’t be afraid to downsize. A friend of mine recommended I try it, as I haven’t ice fished in years. I had limited success at first but the last few days it has really kicked out a few more fish including this 26 1/2″ this afternoon. I’m having luck with it when the suns up higher. I tease up the fish with spoons and drop the Tungsten jig down when they aren’t taking the spoon. Tipping with some small Gulp tales… actually hooking on 2 in a natural color. You crappy guys aught to have just the right stuff.

I have to say, the close up picture reminds me that slip bobber season isn’t to far away. I’m looking forward to seeing some more little jigs buried into a walleyes mouth once we have open water….. Enjoy what’s left of the ice season and be safe!

    Jeff

Wow…very nice Jeff! Under 2+’ of ice and later season they can run lower on oxygen and metabolism. Kinda of like me at my age! Great tip on downsizing and trying/learning something different.
Beautiful pic of the sunset out there, I have saved it…will look at at times when I want to be there. Thanks for sharing! waytogo
