So with all this snow that ruined any ice in my area, I am still getting the itch to wet a line. I’ve been thinking about looking for open water and possibly throwing for some real last minute musky or checkin out the river for some eyes. This Friday is unfortunately going to be high of 40 & 42 on Sat. I figure I might as well cast while I can (sigh). This is really just to get my fishing fix, but does anybody think this could be successful, or am I crazy?

I was thinking open water today too. I gotta get out an do something.

I literally felt sick today making the decision to cancel our ice fishing trip to South Dakota this weekend.

The only thing that is crazy is thinking about ice fishing this early in the season. Or maybe Im just the crazy one. Here is a report from December last year.

There is nothing better than boating/fishing in the cold winter months. Go for it.

Muskie season is closed 12/1/15. I do think you can get some open water fish to bite.

This is my fault. I got a new otter and planned a four day fishing trip for this weekend. Plans change i guess! My boys are not happy with me!

Oh man, didn’t even realize that! The regs are on my night stand. I guess I never thought I would even be targeting muskie this late. Eyes it is, which ended up being my plan A. And muskie being B.

Headed to Chequamegon on Sunday as the forecasted wind right now for Sat. is too much. Fished east of Ashland last weekend outta Saxon. I posted from the water last weekend… I could be on ice this weekend if I wanted to, but know the boat thing is almost over up here in a short time, plus I am coaching a High School Ice fishing team and want to prefish for a tourney up there in January.

Yep. I saw your report. Made me jealous. I’m heading to the north shore possibly Sunday.

My thoughts exactly… Great report! Winter Walleyes are at the top of my list.
