    Hello,
I’m considering a Alumacraft boat for bigger water, Lake of the Woods etc. I want a 20 foot or so boat. I’m looking at the Trophy 205 or the 205 competitor. Would one be better than the other?

Trophy is going to be a better big water boat than a Competitor because it has a higher freeboard height.

Hull-wise I believe they are the same otherwise.

I have a new trophy 205. We took it on erie this spring. The lake kicked up. We felt safe. Just remember to properly power the boat. It makes a difference in rough water. I’d recommend Mike or Nick at Lacannes in Faribault. If your in the area. I’ll take you out for a on water ride

Own a 2017 Trophy 205. extremely capable for rough water. Lake of the Ozarks 80% and Lake Michigan 20%. This boat is AWESOME (especially with the 250HP VMAX). Only thing I recommend is the power assist steering. Does not come standard on the VMAX.
Just started having tank venting (stranded me with collapsed fuel lines) issues but hopefully an easy fix.
