What pound thrust should a guy look at for 16.5ft mod v Jon

I’d go 80lb, 24v if you can – 55lb minimum.

Dad’s got an 24v 80lb Motorguide cable-drive he needs to move if you’re looking…

Plain and simple..buy as big as one you can afford.

If you dont boat in heavy current a 55lb is affordable and will work,but if you boat in somewhat heavy to heavy current get one as big as you can afford like an 80lb.

You wont be sorry if you choose a bigger one.

I have a 70lb on a little 16′ Lund. On the Mississippi it seems to be perfect for me. As others have said, go as big as you can afford. I personally would never go back to a 12 volt system just because with the 24 volt I have so much more run time so wind and current won’t ruin my day with dead batteries.
