My new boat came rigged with a Shumacher Ship to Shore speed charger {on board}. Not my chice, but my question. When it’s plugged in it sounds like a jet warming up. Can hear the whine from quite aways away. Is this normal or is something wrong. The boat is a 10 hour 2 year old boat so it’s out of warranty. Mostly want to know if it’s safe to sell or give to someone. It has already been replaced with a Minn Kota. Thanks Steve
All mine do that, especially if cold. Work fine as long as fan is turning. A slap on top usually gets the fan going faster and the noise stops. Even if the fan quits, there is overheat protection.

dang thing would just charge to 75% – 80% and stay there
when you unpluged and pluged back in, it would show 100% 
Thanks, didn’t think much of it from the get-go. Changed it out before we went to Rainey last fall. Just wanted to know it was normal before I passed it on.
