I am looking at this boat and would like to know if the 150 will perform well with 3 guys and gear on big water with 3-5 ft rollers. Thanks for any help

I have the F150 on my WX1850 Skeeter and it handles the weight without issue. I will say there are outboards out there with more umph but I don’t think there are outboards out there that are more bullet proof.

Once I got my F150 set up with the right prop for me and my boat I couldn’t be happier.

It will be a good setup with the proper prop, it just won’t have the top end. Prop it for the load you plan on having, take a look at a stainless or the newer 4 blade aluminum props.

I run a 115 tiller on my 20′ Ranger without an issue. I can handle 4 people in just about anything mother nature can throw at me.

Like onestout stated you’ll have plenty of power with the right prop, but you might not have a lot of extra top end. That being said it depends how much speed you need. I get 37mph with 4 people and gear… for me that’s plenty fast.

I only need .5mph to catch walleye

I run a 185 Alumacraft tournament sport (walk through windshield). Actual length on this is 18′-10″. I have a yamaha 200 and a T-8 hung on the back and load her down with lots of gear and people all the time. I can get up and go anytime I want and top out at about 48-53 depending on wind and waves. With the higher sides on the trophy about equal to my extra gear and motor with a light load and a 150 you should see close to that. Keep in mind the lighter your load the better you will be because the engine it self is much lighter than mine just doesn’t have as much torque.
