Anybody watching this season? I’m enjoying it I think because it’s in North America. Little easier to relate to the weather and seasons.

Careful now, You’re gonna bring back that lunatic raving about gear choices. All you need is paracord!
August 8, 2019 at 8:46 pm #1872533Yep. The one guy bagged a fricken moose and then killed a wolverine. Isnt that a automatic win right there?
August 8, 2019 at 10:06 pm #18725434 left but the weather has turned. They won’t all last long now.

In the dark! With a hatchet!

Yep-should have been game over right there, the women on the show have been pretty stout also.
August 9, 2019 at 7:17 am #1872555Yes they have been. Even the one that was sent home last night still seemed to be pretty sound. The guy that struggled to make fire I think is next on the to go list.
tanglerInactivePosts: 812August 9, 2019 at 11:25 am #1872603I’m only 3 episodes in but really like this group. I feel like several of them have what it takes. Was funny to see the blustery dude from Lubbock TX go first. One minute he’s deriding the hippies for talking to trees, the next minute mother nature breaks his ankle. Watch yet step there, bud.
August 9, 2019 at 11:30 am #1872605That guy that killed the moose and then a Wolverine with a bow and arrow and hatchet at night, deserves a win and probably his own show on Sportsmen’s channel! That takes a pair of brass ones to even attempt killing a wolverine at night.

August 9, 2019 at 11:36 am #1872607They were at day 54/55 at the end of this last show. How may days will it take to win?
I’m guessing 67.

Curious about this as I’ve never watched the show but, you can legally kill a moose? Wonder how they work these things out with the local government?????

Umm moose hunting is legal in lots of different places all over the world, particularly in Canada where this years show is filmed. They also do a lot of training with the contestants beforehand so they know what they can and cannot kill.

Picking off Pine Squirrels in treetops on an empty stomachAugust 9, 2019 at 4:17 pm #1872664Woniya has a stout shelter… even insulated. If she can stay above minimum BMI, she has a real shot. It will be hard to beat Jordan, the moose man, but, from prior seasons and listening to how they miss family, I give the nod to Woniya.

Oh bigwerm…you crack me up sometimes. I think you know I’m well aware that moose hunting is legal in areas around the world, specifically Canada. I’m guessing you are aware people need licenses and legal weapons too hunt…maybe not??? Like I said, I’m curious how this works out. You do know this is a GAME and survival is not real…so I’m assuming they must follow state…I’m sorry, provincial regulations?????
August 9, 2019 at 11:02 pm #1872710I find it a little funny that they can kill wolverine, but not fox….
I don’t think they’ll make it to day 80. They girls definitely brought their A games.August 10, 2019 at 6:17 am #1872721I had my money on the military dude. He was dialed in. Then he just up and quit because he got bored and missed his family. I feel like the people most successful folks on the show dont have a spouse or kids. The moose guy is dropping weight like crazy. Itll be sweet if he goes and catches fish now.

Haha yeah I hoped you were aware of that ;-). They don’t really get into how the tags/licenses work, but the show coordinates with the local authorities for the preshow training, and the contestants often talk about things they can’t catch, shoot or forage to eat due to regulations. And they use traditional style bows (non-compound).
August 10, 2019 at 2:56 pm #1872771One of the contestants from the early years has a You Tube channel with, I believe over 1 million subscribers. He bowed out early in his season.
Most here can’t get from home to work without their phones so I can’t imagine what it’s like to go 50+ days with nothing but your own thoughts.
August 16, 2019 at 11:41 am #1873952Well, the last 3 made it past day 67! Thinking 2 more episodes???

tanglerInactivePosts: 812August 16, 2019 at 1:25 pm #1873971Really good group for the final 3, happy one of them gets the prize. I’ve personally been pulling for Nathan as he seems like the most chill, no-BS dude on the planet, but Jordan’s method of setting a gill net through the ice was clearly superior, and Woniya is still successfully trapping so who knows?
Barry burned too many calories crying I think.
I do question the fairness of the timing of the well-checks. If they all put in on the same exact day, they should all be well-checked on the same exact day. Maybe that is the case and they just don’t show all the check-ups on the show. Otherwise they could all be suffering the same level of starvation and the person who gets checked last wins because they were lucky enough to be checked last?
August 16, 2019 at 3:01 pm #1873986I think they base there checks, based on how their previous check went…. if someone gained 10 pounds the first check and another lost 10 lbs, obviously the one who is declining, needs to be rechecked sooner.

August 16, 2019 at 8:03 pm #1874027My age would be a problem but surviving 25 years of marriage should give me a leg up.
August 17, 2019 at 10:34 am #1874079I believe we’ll checks are scheduled every 30 days on the same day for all contestants. I thought it’s been mentioned a few times, or in past seasons. I hope either Jordan or Woniya wins. He’s been a beast and entertaining, and she made a great shelter and seems to stay pretty positive about everything. Nathan just kinda bores me a little.
August 17, 2019 at 4:37 pm #1874119That’s a tough way to go out I feel for Barry being medically pulled man that’s got to sting my moneys on Jordan but woniya seems determined to get her hands on that prize money # best reality show on tv
