In 2 days from right now I am headed to the farm for 9 straight day of deer hunting. A solid week of sitting in the stand with the bow, followed by not so serious 2 days of rifle hunting. I much prefer to get them with the bow, but deer camp with family and guns is always a blast too.

From what I am seeing and hearing, the pre-rut/chase mode is really picking up. Last weekend on the way home I saw more dead deer on the road than I have for a long time. 2 of them were 2.5 year old or better bucks. The young guys have been running around for a little while now, but I really expect the big boys to get in the game very soon. In fact, I plan to sit tonight at home to see just how things are doing there.

The stage is set and I can’t concentrate on work at all this week. Cold fronts pushing thru, barometer rising, north winds…it’s all coming together.

Good luck to all hunting next week before the orange army and those in the orange army next weekend. It’s a very exciting time of the year boys and girls chased chased

I am also taking most of next week off to sit in tree. Waiting all year for this week coming. Was out for Mn youth hunt and deer are starting to move some. Week prior had a 8 point come by with a 10 point chasing.

Big deer are moving nocturnal on camera. Hopefully next week they are moving during day light when I am sitting.

    Good luck to all

Right with ya Sticker. Off all next week hope to get my buck tag punched before the guns come out. Then head down to southern WI and try and fill the bow tag there. I will be back out for WI deer opener with my old man and that is always a good time but still want to fill bow tags first.

Work is not on the mind this week.

Get the decoy out boys.. really working good right now. 9 out of 10 bucks I have seen out of range have come right into range because of it this last week. BUT.. they weren’t “HOLLYWOOD” so I had to pass. They are very territorial right now, they get some kind of angry when they see it.

    Good Luck

Have you got a GoPro by chance? Would love to see some videos of those big-bodied deer you have out there.

What do they do when they get to the decoy? Do they try to whip its @ss?
