Even though it’s been a little cooler than normal for August (which is nice) I feel we’ve been stuck in this pattern where the weather is gorgeous all week and then kinda sucks on the weekend

Plus, here on the NE side it’s been south and west winds almost constant and blowing all the dead snails and all the other crap up here. Plus, all the rain has the water very dirty again

Ok rant over, but kinda getting ready for fall…. cool

New grouse gun on order – check. Nephew bought me a crap load of shells from the far side of the state – check. Dog has his new hunting vest, check. Put in for vacation Thursday and Friday for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th weeks in October – check. Yippie skippy. I’m ready for fall!

Its on it way. Only got 11 days to work in October and only 9 in November. Unless a big boy goes down early. Then the vacation will get saved for early ice.

Fall isn’t universally “Mille Lacs” only. Enjoy your fall in S’consin.

It’s been a fantastic year to fish flats at night…to bad I haven’t been out once yet.

I guess my main gripe is the water quality on Mille Lacs this year. We’ve been on the lake for 7 years and occasionally get scuzzy water but this year is the worst by far.

Been fighting with it since 4th of July weekend….. with the big mayfly hatch. Fishing was good this year so can’t complain about that, but swimming and water sports have been a challenge…
