I haven’t been duck hunting in this area since Big Lake was closed. Looking to give it a try this year after doing some scouting this summer. Wondering how crowded it gets between Alma and Big Lake on the WI side of the river with it being so close to the closed part of the refuge? Are hunters launching their boats at the Alma Marina and making their way up river from there or is there a better place to launch? Thanks for any info provided.
Been very crowded last couple years on the north side by Nelson. Lot of sky busters. Can’t ever seem to get birds to finish. Some body usually shooting somewhere before birds commit.

I hate to say it, but it is pretty much the same story, if not worse up by Bay City all the way north through the Wisconsin Channel and into Goose and Dead Slough…
