Was thinking of trying pool 5 tomorrow. Does anyone know what the water conditions are or if anything is biting?

Was looking to go for walleyes and sauger.

Like anything, it won’t do any good on the internet instead of the river. People will stay pretty tight lipped if the fish are doing anything. Just get out and give it a try.

I understand Tom. However if the river is to high to fish I don’t want to drive an hour and have to turn home. Where I live the Chippewa river is high right now. Just looking for some help.

i use an app on my phone called “river flows” it gives you gauge height and flow at numerous spots on the mississippi maybe give that a try! i will say last sunday in upper pool 4 the water had came up in height and flow quite a bit but was predicted to drop by mid week. not much help for pool 5 but thats all i got! either way if ya get out good luck!

There is a moderate flow right now. Nothing that would cause problems. I’d have more concerns with what the river is running thru the dam other than water. Weeds and grass can be a headache at this time of year when the backwaters above the dam die back. I fished the dike road a week ago and grass was an issue where we were at.
