Soon to be new to the handgun carry world. I started to do some research on holsters. One of the ones that several people have suggested is the Alien Gear Brand. I really like the look and design of the Shapeshift 4.0 IWB. They also offer what’s called a core carry pack. This is a modular setup that allows various carry setups. Being new to all of this I’m not totally what carry setup I’m going to want, so the Carry pack looks like a good way to go to try the various setups. If you have never seen this system check out their web site and watch the video on it. It looks like what a new person like me may need. Their website is http://www.aliengearholsters.com. Click on the Shapeshift core carry pack and watch the video. If anyone has tried or owns one of their holsters, let me know what you think.

I have the older 3.0 cloak tuck and I do really like it. I wish they had the Shape shift out when I purchased that. Would love to have one of their appendix holsters. For sure great value in their products. I ended up getting their carry belt as well and it has been fantastic! I use it pretty much everyday and has held up very well.

I have their IWB and it was a waste of money. Wore twice. IWB just doesnt work for me.

That is the 1st time I’ve seen that one. Kind of a cool concept. may have to take a deeper look into that one

That’s why I think the core carry pack is cool. It gives you a chance to carry so many different ways.

A lot of guys start with Alien Gear, whether because of brand recognition, or store availability. Most move on. Crossbreed, Vedder, Galco, Desantis, Safariland…get into the holster game long enough and you’ll have a rubbermaid tote full.

I ( or I should say my pocketbook ) hopes not to end up having a Rubbermaid tote full. That’s the hope anyway. Most likely reality will say otherwise razz

Does any of those in that Rubbermaid tote fit a M&P shield 2.0 compact? If so care to sell any ?

Started with a Crossbreed supertuck (similar to their IWB) and wore it for close to 3-4 years before I found appendix carry. That style of holster is comfortable and easy to adjust. I found I liked the security and retention of an appendix holster better, otherwise I would still use that style. If I ever get TOO fat to carry appendix, I will go back to the IWB. The shapeshift system seems like a home-run. But being as universal as it is, I would be worried of it being too bulky.
