    Hey Everybody,
I’m new to this site, and i was just wondering how are the walleyes in Miltona… I’m heading up there for Memorial Day weekend with some good friends of mine. Unfortunely, they are bass fishermen, and I however want to hunt some walleye, but I don’t think they know where to begin fishing for walleye. I have NEVER been up there, I was wondering if any of you Gentlemen could help me out with areas of interest, techniques,ANYTHING to educate me enough, so we can blast some ‘EYES… THANKS!!!

Welcome to the site TZ. As far as your question about Miltona, check out my post on the other Miltona thread. If there’s something I didn’t cover let us know and we’ll try to help.

Miltona is a beautiful lake, I’m sure you’ll have a great time. Where are you staying?

It’s my friends’ family’s cabin… located in the south of the lake. They invited me up for the weekend. I don’t mind fishing bass, but ‘EYES are my favorite fish to hunt… I live down in Wabasha, MN so i’m always fishing pool 4 on the mississippi… Haven’t done much lake fishing just used to being on the river hitting up wing dams… I read your other thread… so live baits are where it’s at!!! I’ll try that!!! Any luck with Crankbaits too? THANKS FOR THE INFO

Cranks work but usualy it’s a low light thing. If you troll shallow 6′-12′ in the eveings I’m sure you’d have some luck. Lake fishing is deffinatly different than river fishing. Your presentation needs to be perfect: lively bait, slow presentation, and light line and hooks. If you follow these recomendations you will catch walleye. Good luck.
