Just wondering how your bite is shaping up in the land of a million choices of where, and what to fish!! LOL!! Are you chasing Gils yet?? Or just hunting area walleyes!! Keep those Alex reports coming pal!! Love that area!!

Hey Chris, I don’t know how I missed this post Sorry, about that. To answer your question, I’ve been fishing most everything; walleye, perch, crappie and of course sunfish. I’ll try to keep tabs on those big gills just in case you find time to make it down this way!

Joe – Did the bite slow down for you or pick up during this warmer spell? Just curious.

Joel, the bite hasn’t changed much here. It’s not quite as good as it was a few weeks ago but still getting some very quality fish. Are you headed up this way?

Is there a good perch bite out that way Joe? say on Le Homme or Carlos?

jj, there are plenty of perch in the area if you’re willing to put in the effort. It usually requires a lot of drilling to cover as much water as possible. When you find em you can really get some nice fish though.

The Le Homme Dieu Chain, Reno and Miltona are some of my favorite waters for perch hunting. Good luck.

There are some dandy perch in Le Homme Dieu, in fact some jumbos were caught last year during the Ice Fishing Challenge. I hope to catch some more plus a big fish this weekend.

Anyone else fishing the contest this weekend?

I will be there. I’ve only missed 1 so far.
