My two boys and I took advantage of the lack of wind this morning and hit the lake. We were the second one to the ramp and had our spot all to ourselves. We jigged minnows in the deep holes. I started with a large jig and a redtail but found they would not take the whole thing, so I added a stinger and started putting them in the boat. We fished for a couple hours and landed 20 fish. The highlight of the trip was when my boys had a double going. I had a bite also at the same time but had to ignore it and net theirs. The magical depth was around 45 feet. water temp was around 47.6.
For some reason my pics are not working, will try to get them loaded.

Great shot…. that is one heck of a steep break.

Good to see you got out with the youngster on a day when the weather was half way decent. Next week looks like we’ll see a warm up and dare we even hope for some sun?

Thanks for the report. That Alex area is gorgeous.

We kept a few for the pan. I have to keep reminding my boys to reel slower when fishing in the deep water. They get excited and reel as fast as they can. They will definitely taste good.
