Finally an “Indian Summer Like Day” in the Alexandria Lakes Area! Many of us late fall die hard anglers were
beginning to wonder if this could still happen. Afternoon
air temps in the 60’s, light winds…..finally! Maybe too
little too late for some shallow lakes as I’ve seen some
boat ramps iced-in this weekend. NOT Miltona. We, along
with approx 12 other rigs, put in on the east side. No
problem. Our plan today was to troll up one or more of
those sumo Miltona muskies. Started at 2:00pm and fished
’til dark. The afternoon slipped away quickly fishing the
east end, some of the s shore and an area in the nw part
of the main lake. Wish I had a big catch to tell you about
but it was not to be today. The muskies were just not willing to come out and play…at least not with us. It
appeared most boats were fishing walleyes. I only talked
to one other guy today. He said he had caught a few eyes
today. I didn’t ask any details as it was time to load up.
FYI water temp was 39. I’m not winterizing yet.
