Great way to spend the day!

Instead of beating the water for bigger game fish, the wife and I took our 2 1/2 yr. old granddaughter in search of some panfish. We didn’t catch alot, but it sure was fun watching her as she reeled in her first gill. She wasn’t to sure about holding the fish, but was alright with it when Grandpa told her she could take them home to eat. I think she enjoyed the boat ride as much as fishing. It’s a special thing when you can share the sport of fishing with a child.

Great to hear! With a little girl due here in late august I hope to be having some of those good times shortly I wounder if my wife will let me take her out this fall for some night fishing on the big pond!

Just an update on taking young ones fishing. Two weeks later she’s still talking about going fishing in Grandpa’s boat & telling everyone about the “big fish” that “jumped off my pole” as a large bass got off before it could be reeled in. She’s asking all the time to go fishing again.
