Just found out I am going to lake Ida for opener, looking for suggestions as to whats worked in the past, deep shallow, rock or sand

I was looking at the east side of the lake with the quick drop off and hoping that shoreline had some rubble, rock?

I’ve never really fished Ida early in the season but know that it is very slow to warm and generally doesn’t open too well. End of June-4th of July is probably the best time to fish it.

The sand breaklines along Pilgrams point and the emerging weedlines along the west side of the little lake are two areas that have produced for me on the opener. The bars along that side are also worth a look.
Running Lindy’s in 17ft is a good starting point. Leeches and crawlers have been my best baits on Ida. Good luck and let us know how you did.
