I’m headed for Alexandria in a couple of weeks and will be staying at the Arrowwood Resort on Lake Darling. I have never fished the Alex area before and would appreciate any help on lakes to fish, techniques and presentations for walleyes or bass. Thanks in advance.

    hi Look,
was up on homme dieu chain last week. 2 days. was only bass fishing. had a cold front. had some success in shallow water, and deeper weed edge area, the chain in alot of water. i hear carlos can be good for walleyes and does have some big ones. there are other lakes around the Alex area that can be very good lakes for multiple species. Reno to the south of town is good walleyes. get a good map, or better yet, get a local quide for a day to two to help figure it out, then you’d have a couple good days using what you learned. good luck. Report back. Jack..

I’ve fished Carlos quite a bit, always had luck down by the state park, there is a trough that runs parelle to the shore line and the walleyes like to hang in there, but early in the morining seems to be the best. for evening fishing I’ve ALWAYS fished the oppiste end….there is a sand bar right off a point…with a nice house…Kitty corner to the la Homme Deau cross under..(Large sand flat that drops to the deepest part of the lake)..(161ft) I’ve nailed a couple of 28/30 inch walleye where the current comes through from lake Darling….Only it’s night fishing…2/3 in the morning….It’s a very…very clear lake ..early morning ..and late nite is best…let me know if I can help any more…P.S. get a map!!!!!! And I can give better location
