Alexandria area ice

Finally made it out today. Had 6 inches of ice. Caught some small perch and a few crappies. Didn’t move around much but there was a lot of people out.

This is awesome to see! I live in NW Iowa but have been vacationing to the Alexandria area every summer for as long as I can remember. Always just been on the chain of lakes when we go there and this will be my first year making a trip or two there for ice fishing. Were you just on small lakes in the area or what is the condition of the larger lakes? I have no ice in my area and in really itching to very out. Might make a trip north next weekend.

Any update to this? Especially prior to all the snow expected?

Very lake specific. I have been driving on a few lakes but others only have 6 to 8 inches with lots of slush. If you have questions about a specific lake send me a PM.
