Alaskan boats

I just was given a boat. I can’t wait to get it out on the bay and go rock fishing along the edges of the bay. Its about 12-14′ long, I’m guessing. I didn’t have a tape measure. It says Alaskan on the side, but when I look up Alaskan, there seem to be many companies that have Alaskans. So Alaskan doesn’t seem to be a brand, maybe its a style?
Is an Alaskan a style of boat? I don’t have any other information, and the boat itself is in another town until I get it home, so I don’t have it in front of me either. Need to learn more about boats

Possibly a smoker craft Alaskan. Several brands have had an Alaskan model over the years. I own a little 14 smoker craft Alaskan. Look up some pics online

I don’t believe Lund made a 14 foot Alaskan. Smokercraft did. That would be my guess at what it is.

Would the manufactures name not be on the Coast Guard plate?

seems closest to a smoker craft, but the seat pattern doesn’t exactly fit any pictures I see. I wonder if its an older boat

That yellow tag on the transom should tell you everything you need to know.

That tag peeled off my boat within a couple years. I can’t imagine that tag still being on a vintage boat.

The HIN is the only sure way to know who made the boat. The HIN is required to be stamped or permanently affixed to the transom on the starboard half.
