Gun Lake?

    Fishing in a friendly contest with some friends on Gun Lake next week. I’ve never fished it. All species allowed, total inches in 4 hours. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

    Never fished the lake, but I would suggest small hooks and finding some panfish. With a total inches contest, I would think targeting many smaller fish would win vs a few bigger ones. 7 inch perch and bluegills will add up in a hurry.

    Go for the pike. Small to medium sized pike are all over in the lakes around Aitkin. They will add up in a hurry. Try trolling the weed edges or casting spinner baits into the weeds. Good luck.
