I was up on several aitkin area lakes over the last few days. The fishing was great lots of pannies comming out of 6 to 17 fow. We went out with four wheelers some of the shore lines are getting soft but lots of ice once u get out on the lake. Wont be long before a plank is needed to get out about another week. Be safe out there and good luck.

Glad to here you’re getting in on some of the late ice action. I just love being out there all by myself and just hammerin em I can’t believe more people don’t take advatage of the great fishing. Sure some people are out in the boats already but most just hang it up. Great report and welcome to IDO!

I got back last night. I hit isle bay on the way up early am with only some very small crappies checked lots of holes. The big fish just are not in yet. I stoped and checked a few perch spots ended up with a dozen very nice fish. I then headed north to a couple of smaller lakes in northern aitkin county. I caught some very nice crappies and a few bull gills. All the pannies i caught were in ten fow or less and only a few feet under the ice. Took the four wheeler out on the smaller lakes still good ice. It will not be long before only foot traffic with a plank or two will be able to get on the ice. I didnt have my camera wit and i dont know how to post i will figure out soon. I have some nice pics from a few weeks ago and the last fullmoon phase of walleye on the pond. Good luck and be safe this time of year a PFD never hurts to have on.
