Well, I was surprised to see the water temps in the low 60’s as I hit Minnewawa on Sunday evening with 2 of my brothers in search of some eyes. We found them to be a little tight lipped as we started throwing everything at them. They were staged out in 14 feet of water until the sun went down, Then they seemed to move up into 10-11 feet where they finally started to bite on leeches dragged with a very short snell. From 8:30 until 10:00 we boated and boxed a few eyes around 18″ as a few more fish came to the boat that were released to swim another day. We ended up frying the few we kept for Monday morning breakfast. The fish were located on a sand /gravel break, but kind of scattered and not really schooled up or biting in one certain spot. As we caught fish along the whole 250 yard stretch of the break. When they finally decided to hit it, they smacked it good.
