I thought nobody needed them until 2016.
Gives them another year to make two or three versions of stickers.December 4, 2014 at 2:32 pm #1480108I live in SD and posed the question of the legality of this to our attorney general, but haven’t heard back yet. I plan on trailering my boat across the state in I 90, I35 and I94 to my son’s house in WI. Time will tell. I will report back when I hear anything. I will take the test and buy the sticker, if I must, but don’t really want to mess with it.
December 4, 2014 at 4:51 pm #1480172* Online training will be available here on January 5, 2015.
* Paper home-study training packets will also be available.
* Trailer decals are required on trailers starting July 1, 2015.December 4, 2014 at 5:19 pm #1480177* Online training will be available here on January 5, 2015.

But in reality there is no online training, the issues are still unresolved and their hope is that the Legislature will overturn all this. (Just like a few years ago with the last sticker). Why is this happening again? My guess is that this sticker/training didn’t come from within and they just aren’t going to do it.
December 4, 2014 at 6:21 pm #1480188I would bet a 7″ bullhead this came from the Legislature… and without any funding.
Good for the MN DNR!!

I don’t no about the funding when a
$ billion surplus was just anounced. Hopefully the DNR just wont do it. This looks promising. If this does not go through “this time” lets not get caught with our pants down and bent over next time and stop it before it goes anywhere. I know I will be watching.

Remember the last sticker that was printed by the 10’s of thousands? Before we HAD to have that on our boats, the law was repealed.
Besides the no cull rule that effects bass tourneys, MN has another black eye eh Buzz?
The house bill was introduced by John Ward and Connie Doepke.
The senate bill was introduced by Tom Saxhaug, Linda Higgins, Rod Skoe, Ken Kelash and Kari Dziedzic.I would (and will) invite each of the above to stop into Ido and explain their thoughts on supporting this law.
I doubt any of them will waste their time on us, but if they do, please be respectful. That doesn’t mean to avoid the tough pointed questions.
hl&sinkerInactivenorth fowlPosts: 605December 4, 2014 at 7:30 pm #1480210It appears Linda Higgins and Rod Skoe are not in office any longer. I love “term limits” called “elections”!
No email ad supplied for them.
December 4, 2014 at 7:44 pm #1480212Looks like Connie Doepke didn’t make the cut either according to the
December 4, 2014 at 10:35 pm #1480259BK…..IF this doesn’t go though. I will eat spam….mark my words.
December 4, 2014 at 10:50 pm #1480263I’m sure if this Tax works in Minnesota every other state will follow shortly. I might have to put 5-6 stickers on my trailer..
December 4, 2014 at 11:20 pm #1480268They should just make the stickers in the shape of zebra mussels and weeds to put on the boat. Going to get one put on the bottom of my trailer that says “If you can read this get the heck out from under my boat”.

I will video you as you open the can and start chowing!
December 5, 2014 at 7:57 am #1480317I thought tickets (for no stickers) weren’t to be issued until 2016

You are correct, sir. And, as BK posted above:
“* Online training will be available here on January 5, 2015.
* Paper home-study training packets will also be available.
* Trailer decals are required on trailers starting July 1, 2015.”Everybody calm down. Don’t panic yet.

So, was that bullhead gullible enough to take the bet ?
December 5, 2014 at 9:51 pm #1480720We can all call, write email or snail mail each of our legislators and ask them to REPEAL this poorly written and thought out law.
Cite the waste of time and virtual no effect this law will have on the increasing number of Infested Lakes. Cite problems for out of State Boaters. Cite, Fact of Lake Shore Residents spreading more and caring less than those trailers boats daily (Fact: In one Friday at the Lake Waconia Public Access, the Inspectors turned away 8-boats attempting to Launch, all belonging to Lake Minnetonka Residents, all boat has numerous visible Zebra Mussels attached).
Remember the little Gray Stickers of 2012, that got repealed and we got this. make it happen just like it happened to the other one with the gray stickers in 2012, make them repeal it.
